A Course in Miracles — Footing Intended for Intrinsic Contentment

This innocuous book stumbled on my attention in 2005 and it’s passed through my hands repeatedly since. I had no inclination to peruse its contents for I had ceased to think in miracles. In 2005, I was cursing God for abandoning me. I was using all my energy to stave off the hell I descended into 15 years earlier by marrying a person as un-Godly as anyone could be.

In 2007, while packing some books as donations for a book fair, my hand yet again fell on “A Course in Miracles “.By this time around, I had secured a divorce from my husband but was still coping with the fallout. As I grasped the book, I became very thoughtful and calm. What was it about this book that invoked feelings I hadn’t experienced really long time? My hand clung to the book refusing to place it down. Realizing that this was an indicator that I had better have a closer look, I made a pot of tea and sat in my favorite reading chair. With great curiosity, I focused on the blue hardcover and read “A Course in Miracles, a base for inner peace.” Wow. That was quite a bold statement but okay, I made a decision to bite. Going for a deep breath, I pondered probably the most obvious question: What IS the foundation for inner peace? This book instantly opened a vintage wound and it’d better have the solution to healing.

“A Course in Miracles” is truly that, a course. Written in three parts, this book is to not be studied lightly and can not be read in weekly or even a month. There’s text, a workbook for students and a manual for teachers. I had the sudden urge to fling the book across the space because I was deeply and profoundly afraid. I instinctively understood that once I started looking over this book, I was going to have to improve and was I ready for the journey ahead?

The best movie is “The Matrix “.The key character Neo is looking for the solution to the matrix. He understands the matrix exists but he doesn’t know what it is. The person with the solution, Morpheus, contacts Neo and offers the chance for truth giving Neo a choice between having a blue pill or perhaps a red pill. Take the blue pill and remain ignorant or take the red pill and find the solution to the matrix encuentro virtual con maria del mar. Before he reaches for his pill of preference, Morpheus cautions Neo that should he pick the red pill, they can never get back to living he have been living.

“A Course in Miracles” may be the red pill. Do I read it and change everything I know about the planet and myself or do I take the blue pill and make “A Course in Miracles” book fair fodder?

As I choke down the red pill, I flip to Lesson 1 of 365 in the workbook for students and promptly read, “Nothing I see in this room means anything “.Oh dear. Can it be too late to take the blue pill?
