Perhaps you have heard the expression “it’s what it’s”? What does that expression mean exactly?
Before I understood the deeper meaning of the expression, I envisioned an emaciated yogi guru in the lotus position floating above the bottom imperiously imparting wisdom that could take scholars multiple lifetimes to interpret. Since how this is my last life on the planet and the lotus position would put me in traction, I knew that consulting the Course In Miracles would help me clarify its meaning.
What’s the IT that people are currently talking about here? In line with the Course in Miracles, IT is truth, specifically God’s truth. Exactly why is it important to emphasize that it’s God’s truth? Because God’s truth is not open to interpretations whereas a human’s truth is. Multiple versions of human truth have cause a myriad of religions. The Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia defines religion as a “system of thought, feeling, and action that’s shared by way of a group and that gives the members a thing of devotion.”
Who devised the machine of thought? On whose feelings are these thoughts based? Are actions really necessary? In line with the Course In Miracles, God just is and our ultimate goal is to go back to a great state of being. There is no thought or action in the state of being, acim stream soundcloud you just are. What mustn’t be forgotten could be the underlying thread of most religions: God is creator, God is love and we are all perfect and infinite children of God.
A Course in Miracles and the Message of The Secret
Within the last year, many folks have approached me asking me about my perspective, and the perspective of A Course in Miracles, on the favorite book and film The Secret. I was also recently asked to participate in an expert panel discussion on The Secret and regulations of attraction at the Body Soul Spirit Expo in Calgary.
As I view it, The Secret supplies a few powerful and necessary global messages worth appreciating.
The very first message is that our thoughts have a robust influence on our life. Another insight is that people are eligible to a rich life, although true wealth is much more than simply cash and “toys.” Instead, it involves feeling fulfilled in all aspects of life, including our relationships, career, and health. What we need to do is look within to find out if, actually, we feel worth authentic wealth.
Another message that’s subtly conveyed in The Secret, and the one that I believe to be true, is that whenever we’ve a heartfelt desire and we say yes to doing our part to manifest the desire, synchronicities arise, and dormant forces come alive.
On the flip side, I’m the proven fact that more “toys” in the proper execution of cars, houses, jet planes, and boats could make us happy and would be the demonstration of our capacity to manifest is potentially damaging and crippling for most folks who are already “bankrupt” in the aspects of self-love and self-appreciation. The issue with this specific picture is that the desire to possess often comes from a sense of lack rather than feeling of completeness. And because of this, whatever we gain assured of feeling “full,” whole, happy, or accomplished, will inevitably not work, since we feel an emptiness internally.
The reality is that people are not empty, but already full, and once we understand and feel this to be our new reality, then a outer world begins to “echo” our inner awareness.
A Course in Miracles reminds us that to the degree that people can accept and be truly grateful for our inheritance to be an unbounded, abundant, whole, and unlimited Self, we will attract to ourselves the right outward expressions of our claimed inner worth. This reclaiming of our authentic Self will then miraculously bring into manifestation any material items that will assist the higher good of both our life and of those around us, and yet we will feel no dependency upon them for our happiness.
